Tips for an enjoyable and safe journey
If you’re traveling by RIB boat, departing from Lavrio means it’s about a 35-minute trip to reach the island. Be cautious in July and August, as the meltemi winds can make the northeastern beaches difficult to access. For a stopover, choose Vourkari or Korissia, the island’s main port.
Head to Koundouros in the southwest, and if the sea is calm, continue on to Orkos and Kalydonychi. A visit to Xyla will reward you—it’s perfect for boats!
Visit Aristos for the famous lobster pasta, and To Spiti in Chora for traditional recipes with a creative twist. Locals recommend To Steki tou Strongyli for ribs and a simple island vibe, and Rolando’s ouzeri for baby squid.

Visit Arya for lobster and fresh catch of the day! At Ostria, you’ll find fish straight from the fishing boat, while at Mila’s Taverna you can enjoy local meats.
From the north, you’ll reach Loutra. If you’re into diving, you’ll find one of the country’s best diving schools there!
Approach the secluded beach of Kysis by boat. You’ll find tamarisk trees offering shade and a sense of tranquility. A visit to Agios Ioannis, just to the left, will reward you as well!
