ΕΚΟ first to remove monitor filters from its operated Into Plane (ITP) services network in Greece

EKO has achieved an important milestone as the first company in Greece to remove all monitor filters from its aircraft refueling fleet.
In full compliance with the global aviation industry’s commitment and well ahead of JIG - IATA’s 2023 monitors phase-out final timeframe, EKO is the only company in Greece that provides SAP-free (Super Absorbent Polymer) ITP services at its own operated facilities.

EKO operates its own into plane services at 20 regional airports throughout Greece, with a fleet of 50 refuelers. Upon the 2017 announcement of IATA’s Special Interest Group findings on the SAP issue, EKO designed and implemented a filter monitor phase-out strategy. The project was successfully completed in November 2020, with the replacement of the monitor filters with Filter Water Separator vessels to a significant percentage of its refueling fleet.

Moreover, EKO’s customers will also have the privilege to be served through a monitor free refueling fleet at Athens Airport (ATH) effective as of 1st of January 2021 via ITP services provided by the JV company (SAFCO), where EKO participates.

The SAP-free ITP network is a very important milestone for the aviation community. EKO remains committed to provide its customers with a high level of quality, safety and efficiency in its services. We at EKO, are constantly adopting and operating to the highest international operational standards, through our experienced and competent workforce and via an exceptional, fully compliant and modernized infrastructure of equipment and facilities.
